For something quirky, check out Gnomesville, the home of over 3,000 gnomes. The laid-back vibe and creative melting pot of people have lead to a rich artist culture. The area is filled with galleries, street art and reclaimed urban structures. There are even two art trails created in the forests of the South West. Modern culture is very much centred around art, good locally produced food and a little bohemian charm.

For lovers of history, there's much to explore with vibrant cultural treasures and heritage locations still accessible to visitors. Remenants of ancient Aboriginal, military settlement and pioneering days dot towns throughout the region.
